Arcadia University – Brubaker Hall
This project included the addition of a new three-story Science Classroom Building at Arcadia University. An aggressive schedule had this 33,000 sq. ft. project being completed in just eight months.
Construction of the building consists of load bearing masonry walls, precast plank floors and split-faced exterior block veneer. One of the more intriguing parts of this project was the construction of an eighty foot long enclosed bridge which connects the new building to the existing science building.
Delran Builders, in conjunction with the owner and architect, adjusted the construction schedule in great detail to maintain the original completion date. This adjustment was needed as a result of unforeseen delays at the onset of the project, which included a high voltage line running beneath the building footprint, unforgiving rock, a missing gas service and an old stream bed at the foundation of the building. As a team these obstacles were overcome and the project was completed on schedule.
